Greenwood Hotel

A major renovation of this 1883 three-story hotel was completed in 1926. The building’s Spanish style architecture, popular in elite circles at that time, is evident in the multicolored clay roof tiles, the thick geometric-patterned stucco, and the exposed window hoods. From serving as a small livestock exchange to becoming the site of many million-dollar oil-field deals in the 1920s, the hotel has hosted guests from all walks of life. The classic green-and-gold marquee is from 1926. In the 21st century, a second restoration has been completed on the hotel’s first floor, which now contains an event center, offices, and retail stores. (NRHP)
