Gilmore Home

To the north of the Flack home is a wood-frame Folk Victorian house built in 1882 for Viola Gilmore. It was a wedding present from her husband, John, the local newspaper editor. Sadly, she died of an intestinal infection in Washington, D.C., while on her honeymoon and never saw her enchanted cottage. Viola is buried in Fredonia Cemetery, 1000 and Cement. Her tombstone is to the southeast of the sexton's office.
