From Alton, ¾ mile east on U.S. 24, then ½ mile north on 240. In Sumner Cemetery, the gravestone topped with a large marble ball is that of Hiram Bull. Among other things, his marker states, “Killed by Pet Elk.” The elk horns are displayed in the Osborne County courthouse.
