Carnahan Creek Scenic Drive
From 2nd, ½ mile east on K-16, 6¼ miles south on Carnahan, then ¾ mile southwest on Park. From the plains to hilly wooded areas and river valleys of the upper Flint Hills, this scenic route is especially lovely in autumn. When you come to the Carnahan Park entrance, bear left to find Carnahan-Garrison Cemetery. This beautiful old cemetery filled with tulip beds rests on a bluff overlooking Tuttle Creek Lake. Many of the graves were moved to this location when the reservoir was built during the 1950s. From this hilltop cemetery you’ll not only see the lake, but also stone building foundations in the valley. Note the old schoolhouse just before the cemetery entrance.
