Prairie Spirit Trail in Ottawa

The most southern end of this rail trail is behind the Old Depot Museum at 135 W. Tecumseh. Fifty-two miles from Ottawa to Iola is on the hard-packed surface trail built on an old railroad grade. This trail takes the traveler through scenic prairies and woodlands, past lakes, and over bridges. Prairie Spirit, the state's first linear state park, connects with the nine-mile Southwind Rail Trail between Iola and Humboldt. 8 Wonders of Kansas Customs finalist
