The museum building at 7th and Atlantic (City Park) was originally the shop facility for Corning Rural High School, constructed in 1939 by the National Youth Administration. Behind the museum a memorial contains a picture of the old school. The limestone structure in the 6500 block of Main is a WPA project, built in 1938. Now the city hall, it originally was the school gymnasium.
