HISTORIC BUILDING

German Society Hall

Hanover, KS | Washington County

One look at this red-brick and limestone structure tells you something is a bit different, especially when you see the stone plaque that's engraved with German text and two clasping hands. Translated, the words mean German Society Hall / Unity is strength. Built in 1874, it was an important haven where the German community gathered to host athletic games and social functions.
