The flood of 1976 made it impossible to continue vehicular traffic across this 1893 bridge, but in 2001 the Friends of Elk Falls with help from AmeriCorp workers saved the bridge by replanking the floor. The 130ᕁ16-foot bridge on the northeast side of town has become a popular stop and offers a great view of the falls and the Elk River below. (NRHP)
