¼ mile west of Louis Vieux Cemetery on Oregon Trail Rd. Perils were common on the Oregon Trail, and in 1849 tragedy struck when emigrants camped at the nearby Vermillion Creek Crossing died from a cholera outbreak. They were buried on the creek bank, where, over the years others interred. While as many as 50 graves were marked at one time, only three stones are evident today. An interpretive sign on the cemetery fence recounts this story.
