Argentine Steps

Kansas City, KS | Wyandotte County

Why is a street sign at the base of these concrete steps? The 169 steps actually are a street (nearly a block long and comprising three or four tiers). When it was built it was the only access to many of the homes along either side, and it is the only street in Kansas made from a series of steps. A sign wisely discourages climbing.
