Anderson County Prairie Spirit Trail

Around the County, KS | Anderson County

A pioneer trail in its own right and following one of the first north-south rail lines in Kansas. Now a Kansas state park, the trail runs 51 miles from the Old Depot Museum in Ottawa to Riverside Park in Iola where you can continue six more miles to Humboldt on the Southwind Trail. In Anderson County you'll find trailheads in Scipio, Garnett, Welda, and Colony. On your scenic trek you'll cross bridges and pass woodlands, prairie, and lakes, and catch glimpses of wildlife. There are no permits required.
