Why would electrical outlets be placed waist high? So high-heeled home- makers wouldn't have to bend too far to plug in the vacuum! Learn about all sorts of domestic innovations at the first 1950s all-electric house in the United States open for public tour. You'll get a kick out of the futuristic innovations that KCP&L installed when the company built the house as a showcase home in 1954. Gimmicks include a bedside remote control for the coffeemaker, moonglow lighting near the floor, a hanging wall picture that moves back and the TV appears, and more! It's all-electric and all-amazing fun. It's located inside the Johnson County Museum.
